The Beginning of my last year!
Senior year for me has so far been exciting, yet so different from the past 3 years I've been in high school. So many responsibilities I have had already and this is only the beginning of it. Every time someone mentions something about me being a senior, or, "Are you ready to apply to different colleges and pray you get into your dream one?", reality hits me. It is my last year at Lindsay High School...forever. Of course it isn't the end, but who knows you may never see the people you see now, later on in the future.
I am currently on pace and also ahead in school so far. I'm writing my journals as my senior year slowly passes on by, describing how it is going so far and how I feel about it. I'm somewhat glad this is my last year because after this, I will be on my own finding what I want to do in life and enjoying it. It is honestly a bittersweet feeling. It is difficult to fully comprehend that this is it!
Do not get me wrong, it is very exciting to be the oldest students. You have the freshmen looking up to you, because they think it is cool being friends with older kids. We the upperclassmen, have the option to set a great example for the underclassmen by showing up to school on time, being active in sports, clubs, having a great personality, treating others equally. So yes, it is also like having a job, only difference is, it is for short matter of time.
I am looking forward to staying ahead in school, being great at the sports I play, being involved in school/rally activities, being involved in activities helps you become more social and you’ll learn how to interact with others besides your close friends. I was once very shy at the beginning of my freshmen year until I started meeting the older kids and different people as the years gone by and having many positive acquaintances surround me. It is good to have positive influences around you.
My goals for my final year in high school is to make the best of it and enjoy it. Working hard and striving for better is my motto this year and for the year of 2016. I would be the first to go to college in my family. I want to make my mom and grandmother proud. I want my younger siblings to become better than me and want to become something bigger. I am the oldest sibling so of course my brothers and sisters are looking up to me. I want nothing but the best for both myself and family. After high school I do not plan on staying here in Lindsay and if I do, it will be for a short matter of time. I have a lot of goals for the future and I just hope to become a successful woman in life who knows what she wants.
